Candle Care & Burning Tips

All of Siam Candles products are handmade and individually numbered. Each Candle is made from scratch, by hand, in Bangkok, Thailand. Soy wax is non-toxic and non-carcinogenic and is more Eco-friendly than Paraffin Wax.

Here are a few simple ways to get the most from your Siam Candles soy candle experience:

  • When lighting a soy candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container. Depending on the container size, this should take around 1-3 hours. Before the first light, make sure you have 3-4 hours available for the candle to burn while attended.

  • Trim your wick to about 1/4"/6-8mm before you re-light your candle. This will ensure a long lasting candle, minimize soot and remove any mushrooming of carbon on the end of the wick.

  • Extinguish your candle by dipping the wick into the melted wax and straighten. Using a candle snuffer is also optional.

  • After use, wipe the jar clean with a paper towel so that it is ready to glow for the next use.

  • Keep your candle protected from light. UV light or fluorescent lighting your candle may turn yellow.

  • Place your candle on a flat, flame retardant surface, away from drafts, children, pets, curtains, furniture, etc.
